About Walk-A-Seat

Walkaseat_036_HighResWalk-a-Seat has been providing customers of all ages with the support and security of a walking stick and the convenience of an occasional seat – anywhere, any time, for over 25 years.

Since 2005 Walk-a-Seat has been within the Stoddart family. Originally in Queensland and now still 100% Australian made and owned by Justin Stoddart in Dunedoo in the Central West of NSW.

In 2013, aged 71 Leigh Stoddart, (who had the first of his 6 hip replacements at the age of 36) enjoyed first-hand use of his brother in law’s fantastic Walk-a-Seat as he followed his beloved Australian Cricket team on an ashes tour to England. Walk-a-Seat ensured that Leigh was able to get around in multiple British and European countries with ease and comfort. As he hopped on and off planes and buses and in and around cricket ovals and other tourist venues, his Walk-a-Seat was there to provide him with the added support, comfort and confidence he wanted on this trip.

Leigh loved his Walk-a-Seat and dreamt of taking the business over to share this fabulous product with as many people as he could. Sadly, Leigh passed away suddenly in 2015 and now his son Justin is running the business as a legacy to his much loved dad.

We are proud that we can continue with dad’s dream and share Walk-a-Seat with people from all over Australia and the world – just as dad wanted. And we are even prouder that it is still 100% Australian owned and made right here in the Central West in Dunedoo” says Justin Stoddart, owner of Walk-a-Seat.

Currently our Walk-a-Seat is being used in the following ways:

  • Assisting The Elderly
It’s a great stepping stone for those people who are still active and not ready for a walker or scooter, but need a little added support and a resting spot now and then.
  • Rehabilitation
People of all ages who are rehabilitating from injury or illness and can’t be on their feet for too long.
  • Tourism
A light weight and sturdy, go anywhere companion that easily stores flat whilst travelling.
